People with dementia may reduce their engagement in daily activities not only due to cognitive decline but also because of ‘excess disability’ created by stigma and demoralization, and perceptions of what they can do. They are being devalued from the moment of diagnosis and overprotected by the people surrounding. Creating a supportive and inclusive environment to people with dementia is crucial in moving forward and continuing a life with meaning and value.
By end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
Learn the challenges faced by people with dementia in daily activities.
Ways to engage people with dementia in daily activities and community.
Create a supportive environment that promotes independent and reflects the person’s personality.
Use of gadget and technologies to promote independence and well-being in people with dementia.
