AIM Healthcare Academy offers a comprehensive 12-day Caregiver Foundation Course designed to equip participants with essential knowledge, practical skills and professional attitudes to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care for older adults and individuals requiring daily assistance.

Through classroom learning, hands-on demonstrations, supervised practical training at a care centre and real-life caregiving scenarios, participants will develop the confidence and skills to support individuals in home care, community care and residential care settings.

What Will You Learn?

Module 1: Caregiver Attitude, Elderly Health & PPE

• Caregiver roles, responsibilities and ethics

• Understanding ageing and elderly health

• Effective communication and professional conduct

• Infection prevention, hand hygiene and PPE

Module 2: Vital Signs, Patient Handling & Safe Transfers

• Basic vital signs monitoring

• Health observation and documentation

• Safe body mechanics and patient positioning

• Mobility assistance and transfer techniques

Module 3: Personal Hygiene, Bed Bath & Daily Living Care

• Personal hygiene and grooming

• Bed making and bed bathing

• Toileting, continence and diaper care

• Activities of daily living (ADL) assistance

Module 4: Nutrition and Medication

• Basic elderly nutrition and hydration

• Safe feeding techniques

• Swallowing difficulties and feeding precautions

• Medication safety and caregiver responsibilities

Module 5: Pressure Ulcer, Wound Dressing, Suction, Oxygen & CBD

• Pressure injury identification and prevention

• Basic wound care awareness

• Oxygen and suction equipment awareness

• Urinary catheter care and monitoring

Module 6: Exercise, Fall Prevention & Activities

• Range-of-motion (ROM) exercises

• Safe mobility and fall prevention

• Meaningful activities for older adults

• Dementia-friendly engagement and emotional support

Training Schedule:

• Saturday: Theory Class | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• Sunday: Practical Class | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Training Language: English & Bahasa Malaysia

Training Mode: Face-to-Face Classroom & Hands-On Practical Training

Certificate: Certificate of Completion – Caregiver Foundation Course, issued by AIM Healthcare Academy, subject to successful completion and assessment.

Training Fee: RM3,500 per participant
