Mr Delren Terrence Douglas President of the Association for Residential Aged Care Operators of Malaysia AGECOPE and Founding Member of MCOA presented "Who Will Look After Us" - The Future of Care Giving & Ensuring Quality Care. Most homes are unregistered/unlicensed due to following reasons:-
- Not fall into the category as religious body/ ad hoc temporary
- Lack of funds for those under charity and NGO - different local authority laws at town levels/state levels
- High cost to obtain town plannng approval - No standard operating procedures by local authority
- Protest by neighbours
- Homely but doesn't comply with hospital requirements - follow guidelines hospital requirements too costly and no longer homely.
