iElder MOU with Malaysian Chinese Medical Association (MCMA)
Malaysian Chinese Medical Association (MCMA) and Asian Integrated Medical Sdn Bhd (AIM Healthcare) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly effort promoting MOH's KPK training for Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners.
Asian Integrated Medical Sdn. Bhd. (iElder) is appointed as qualified training center Malaysia to provide training "KURSUS PEMBANGUNAN KAPASITI (KPK)" for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
The Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Act 2016 (Act 775) which governs T&CM practice and practitioners in Malaysia, was gazetted on 10 March 2016 and enforced on 1 August 2016. Malaysia is one of the very few countries to regulate diverse practices and practitioners of T&CM. The enforcement of the Act will be conducted in phases. At present, the Ministry has embarked on Phase 1 of the Act enforcement whereby the T&CM Council has been formed and is currently making the necessary preparations for the enforcement of Phase 2 which will include registration of T&CM practitioners as well as disciplinary proceedings. The final phase will entail full enforcement of the Act including the Sections pertaining to enforcement related activities. There are also at present 7 recognised T&CM practice areas and 6 designated practitioner bodies to represent these practice areas in the Council.
The Traditional and Complementary Act 775 which came into effect in August 2016, makes it mandatory for all traditional and complementary medicine practitioners to be registered and those who are not, are unable directly or indirectly to provide service as stipulated in this act.
