The program CC-013-3: 2013 Elderly Care Operation (Tahap 3) is designated for student to learn how to manage and fulfill of the senior citizens daily requirement such as assisted living, adult day care, long term care, nursing homes, hospice care and home care.

With this program, student would be able to be more understanding and practice to execute, carry out and supervise elderly care facilities and programs that emphasize on elderly care special needs and requirement that compliance or related law and policies.

Course structure CC-013-3:2013 Elderly Care Operation

CU1 Residents receiving & returning
The competency required when administering the residents when they initially arrive at the centre or if they come daily to centre where the activities include registration of the resident, inspection of resident, and placement arranged. Whereas, the returning activities will be conducted when the residents will have to leave the centre either daily, for a short leave (i.e. holiday), or when they end their residence at the centre.

CU 2 Independent residents care handling
The competency required when facilitating residents throughout their daily routines such as while bathing, personal hygiene & grooming, bathing, dressing and undressing, feeding, functional transfer, bowel & bladder management and general mobility. Independent residents refer to those that are capable of carrying out their activities and require minimal help and supervision.  

CU 3 Dependent Residents Care Handling
The competency required when facilitating dependent residents throughout their daily routines such as bathing, personal hygiene & grooming, bathing, dressing & undressing, feeding, functional transfer, bowel & bladder management and general mobility. Dependent residents refer to those that are not capable of carrying out their routine activities on their own and require full support from care givers.

CU 4 Residents Activities Handling
The competency required when handling and organising activities for residents such as essential activities, basic therapy/rehabilitation, developmental activities (social, education, employment, religious) and Recreational activities (musical, health, cognitive, mental).

CU 5 Residents Area Housekeeping
The competency required when maintaining the cleanliness and housekeeping of their area that include performing laundry for the residents, cleaning of residents utensils, equipment and common area.

CU 6 Premise Hygiene, Safety & Security Handling
The competency required when monitoring and handling the hygiene, safety and security aspects of the overall premises which include daily inspection of the premise to identity possible risks and threats to the residents such as defects, hazards and obstructions.

CU 7 Emergency Response Handling
The competency required when handling emergency situations such as resident falls, heart attacks, epilepsy and such including the first aid techniques to use in the situations, people to contact in time of emergencies and safety rules and regulations to adhere to during emergencies.

CU 8 Residents End of Life Handling
The competency required when handling the event of residents death that include the pre burial preparation of the residents, burial process, inheritance/ will requirements with relevant personnel and completion of required documentation.
