What type of Wheelchair Suitable for you?
We at iElder would like to share with you on how to choose a suitable wheelchair for you or your loved one.
When you want to buy wheelchair, first thing first is to check the height of the patient first.
If the patient height is more than 175cm, we recommend to choose 24" wheel size wheelchair as user can sit comfortably.
Then you should check the weight of the patient. Average wheelchair can take 100kg user weight. Maximum user weight for slightly pricey wheelchair can take 125kg user weight. Please check with specification of max user weight for wheelchair you intend to buy.
There are 2 type of seat material which are PVC or fabric:-
Fabric is suitable for patient who seat on wheelchair for a long time as you won't feel hot.
If customer choose PVC, we suggest put water cushion on top of wheelchair seat. PVC seat is easy to clean.
User who is older and does not have energy to push the wheelchair by his own, we recommend to buy a push chair as someone will push it from behind. Pushchair is lighter compare to normal big wheel wheelchair.
For stroke patient, we recommend flip up arm wheelchair to ease travel from wheelchair to bed and vice versa.
Flip footrest is recommended to buy but it will be a little bit pricy compare to normal footrest.
Hope above information is useful for you.
