[8 August 2026] Seniors Bazaar at Atria Mall organised by iElder, Seniors Aloud and U3A Malaysia

A Day That Proved Ageing Can Be Beautiful

On 8 August 2026, Atria Shopping Mall in Petaling Jaya became something truly special — a place where seniors were not just welcomed, but celebrated.

The Seniors Bazaar 2026, co-organised by iElder, U3A Malaysia and SeniorsAloud, brought together seniors, families, caregivers and community members for a full day of shopping, learning, music and meaningful connection.

From 10am to 6pm, the hall was alive with energy. Visitors browsed unique handcrafted goods, attended inspiring talks, enjoyed live performances, and left with more than just shopping bags — they left with new friendships, new knowledge, and a renewed sense of what active ageing truly looks like.

Every booth visited, every conversation shared, every ringgit spent sent a powerful message: our seniors matter.

Opening ceremony of Seniors Bazaar 2026

It started with a warm welcome — and a room full of people who truly meant it.

Olivia stepped up to greet everyone at our very first Seniors Bazaar, a day thoughtfully curated for seniors, by a community that believes in active and meaningful ageing. She extended her heartfelt thanks to Seniors Aloud and U3A Malaysia for making this co-organised celebration possible.

Because this was never just a bazaar. It was a celebration — of talent, creativity, lived experience, and the extraordinary contributions our seniors continue to make every single day.

Vendors introduced at Seniors Bazaar

A Marketplace Like No Other

Emcee Angeline Cheong brought the energy from the very first introduction, welcoming each vendor with warmth and enthusiasm. And what a lineup it was — books, clothing and accessories, tea leaves and snacks, hand-sewn crafts, Chinese calligraphy, crochet items, costume jewellery, pre-packed food, art and craft pieces, découpage items, toys, shoes, pots, ceramics, fresh flowers and potted plants.

But there was more. Visitors discovered Tiffin carriers decorated with origami flowers, Nirwana Preplanning services, kitchenware, and wellness bioelectric treatment — alongside pre-loved goods that gave everyday items a second life, and a second chance to be loved.

Every stall told a story. Every vendor brought something different. And together, they created a marketplace that buzzed with discovery, conversation, and genuine human connection. It was shopping, learning, connecting and enjoying good company — all under one cheerful roof.

🥁 When the Drums Spoke

Then the hall came alive.

The energetic beat of drums filled the air — performed by a group of vibrant, beaming seniors from University of the Third Age (U3A Malaysia). Drumsticks in hand, big smiles on their faces, they played with a confidence and joy that silenced every doubt about what age can or cannot do.

Age is never a barrier to learning, performing and having fun. Their performance wasn't just entertaining — it was a declaration. A reminder that our later years can be filled with new experiences, deep friendships, creative expression, and plenty of rhythm.

Well done, U3A Malaysia! Keep drumming, keep learning, keep inspiring! 🥁👏❤️

A Story That Started at Home

Olivia took the stage — and shared something deeply personal.

She spoke about iElder's 14-year journey, one that began not in a boardroom, but in her own home, driven by the needs of her own parents. She also shared the story of AIM Healthcare founder Dr Kong Why Hong and his work in integrative medicine — and how truly caring for our seniors means looking beyond clinical care alone.

Their home environment. Their daily habits. Their mobility. Their emotional attachment to the things they've kept for decades. All of it matters.

Through years of conducting home hazard assessments and home modifications, Olivia uncovered two simple but powerful truths:

Many seniors are reluctant to let go of their belongings. Every item holds a memory. But as things accumulate, pathways narrow — and clutter quietly becomes a fall hazard.

And then there's the humble loose floor mat. Harmless-looking. Potentially devastating. For an older person with reduced balance, one small slip can change everything.

Ageing safely at home doesn't always require a major renovation. Sometimes, it starts with small changes and a deeper understanding of how our parents actually live.

After 14 years, iElder's mission remains unchanged: helping seniors live more safely, independently and confidently in the place they love most — their own home. ❤️

Don't wait for a fall to happen before making the home safer. Prevention begins with noticing the little things.

🎶 Music, Movement & Pure Joy

The Seniors Bazaar wasn't just a place to shop and learn — it was a stage for our seniors to shine.

After the powerful drum performance, the Ukulele Group took over with cheerful melodies that had everyone smiling, swaying, and singing along. 🎶 Then came the Harmonica Group — proof that the smallest instrument can carry the biggest heart. Their familiar tunes stirred memories and wrapped the room in a beautiful sense of togetherness.

For those seeking something more meditative, the Qi Gong session offered slow, mindful movement — a gentle reminder that staying active doesn't have to mean high intensity. Just intention, breath, and presence.

What made it all so special? Seeing seniors perform, participate, learn and enjoy themselves — together. Growing older does not mean stepping back from life. It means stepping into it differently.

We can drum, strum, play, move, laugh and keep discovering what we're capable of — at every age. That is active ageing. 🥁🎶💃❤️

🗺️ The Stamp Challenge: 20 Booths, 20 Stamps, One Meaningful Gift

Seniors performing at Seniors Bazaar

We added a little adventure to the day — and visitors loved it.

Everyone was invited to explore the bazaar, visit 20 booths and collect 20 stamps to redeem a special free gift: a Lifeline Action Plan fridge magnet.

Small gift. Big purpose. The magnet is a practical, always-visible reminder of what to do and who to call when help is needed — especially in an emergency. It's the kind of thing you hope you never need, but are so glad to have.

More than the gift itself, the stamp challenge got people moving, exploring, chatting with vendors and discovering products they might never have found otherwise. It turned a shopping trip into a mini adventure — and created dozens of unexpected conversations along the way.

20 booths. 20 stamps. One useful little gift — and a whole lot of connections made. ❤️
