On the afternoon of 15 August 2026, that's exactly what we experienced at AIM Healthcare and iElder Senior Living Specialist in Subang Jaya — a gathering of patients, caregivers, doctors, and advocates, all coming together under one roof for one shared purpose: to learn, to connect, and to move forward together.
The event, "Arthritis and You: Understanding Your Joints", was jointly organised by Arthritis Foundation Malaysia (AFM), AIM Healthcare, and iElder — and what unfolded that Saturday afternoon was nothing short of heartwarming.

Group Photo for a meaningful talks jointly organised by Arthritis Foundation Malaysia and AIM Healthcare. Attendance also very surprisingly high- including us there were abt 45 paxs. Really full house, very nice.

Guests arrived to a familiar, friendly atmosphere — many of them living with arthritis or caring for someone who does. Before the talks began, attendees were invited on a facility tour of AIM Healthcare, getting a firsthand look at the integrative care environment that supports so many in our community.

Dr Lee Jing Si, TCM practitioner at AIM Healthcare, opened the afternoon with warm welcome remarks that set the tone for the entire session.

Dr Fariz Bin Yahya, President of Arthritis Foundation Malaysia, shared an insightful talk on "Understanding Your Joints" — breaking down complex medical concepts into practical, relatable knowledge.
His session reminded us that knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have. Understanding how our joints work — and why they sometimes don't — is the first step toward managing arthritis with confidence rather than fear.

Dr Kong Why Hong, founder of AIM Healthcare, spoke on Integrative Medicine approaches for arthritis — offering a holistic perspective that resonated deeply with the audience.
It was a gentle reminder that healing is not one-dimensional. Complementary care, when thoughtfully combined with conventional medicine, can make a meaningful difference in quality of life.

Ms Chan Li Jin, EXCO of Arthritis Foundation Malaysia, guided the afternoon as emcee — keeping the energy warm, inclusive, and engaging throughout.

One of the most lively moments of the afternoon — the Q&A session, where participants asked candid questions and speakers responded with clarity and compassion.
This is always my favourite part of any event. When the questions start flowing, you know people feel safe enough to speak up. And that, to me, is the mark of a truly successful gathering.

A milestone moment — the MOU Exchange between AFM President Dr Fariz Bin Yahya and AIM Healthcare founder Dr Kong Why Hong, formalising a meaningful partnership dedicated to better arthritis care in Malaysia.
Watching this unfold in person was genuinely moving. Two organisations, united by a shared commitment to the people they serve. We look forward to seeing what this collaboration will bring to our community in the months ahead.

Congratulations to our lucky draw winners — a little extra joy to end a wonderful afternoon! 🎉

A full house of engaged, curious, and caring individuals — this is what community looks like. The session ended with light refreshment.
A Day Well Spent
As the afternoon wound down over tea and conversation, I found myself reflecting on why events like this matter so much.
Arthritis affects millions — yet so many still feel alone in their journey. Events like "Arthritis and You" remind us that we are not. There are doctors who care, communities who listen, and organisations working tirelessly to make life a little easier for those living with joint pain every day.
To everyone who joined us that afternoon — thank you. Your presence, your questions, and your openness made this event truly special.
And to our partners at Arthritis Foundation Malaysia and AIM Healthcare — it was an honour to stand alongside you in this work. Here's to many more collaborations ahead. 💙
