2. Why do we do it?
Adapting or modifying the home environment is an effective way of reducing the risk of falls for older people living in the
community.
3. Where is the assessment conducted?
The test will be conducted in your home via video call (virtual) or our Occupational therapist will visit your home.
For an effectiveĀ virtual session, you require a stable internet connection, quietplace, proper lighting conditions, headphone/earphone, and good camera angle.
The trained Assessor will begin the session when everything is properly setup and provide you with the consultation at the of the session.
4. Why with us?
Home Hazard Assessments are done to assess the frequency of hazards at home. These hazards are directly correlated with increased risk of falls in older Malaysians. Studies also show that 80% of falls in older Malaysians occur at home.
At ACT4Health, we use home hazard assessments that are professionally rated and clinically proven to be feasible and reliable when used as a clinical tool for the Malaysian context.
ACT4HealthĀ is a spin-off company of the University of Malaya and the business arm of the Ageing and Age-associated Disorders Research Group, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Founded in 2017, provides conducive venue for clinical research as well as delivery of evidence-based test & therapy and interdisciplinary training & education to help our clients strive towards healthy ageing.
5. How long is the process?
The duration of the therapy depends on your performance. On average it will be about one hour to one and a half hour
6.Ā Flow of the service & Device involved?
Occupational therapists will visit your home and will check for anything that might put your loved one at risk of falling again.
If the healthcare professional thinks that making changes in the person's home (for example, changing the layout of furniture) or having special equipment might lower the chances of another fall, they will offer help with this.

- Once confirmed date, you can place order online or send us payment slip.
- Our ACT4Health OT will conduct an assessment and then will provideĀ the assessment report. iElder will provide the quotation of suitable equipment.
7. How do we create a safe setting for our client?
All ACT4Health and iElder staffs are required to do Covid test prior to the home visit. During home visit, please keep the door and windows open to ensure good ventilation.Ā Ā
8. Payment method?
You can place order for this service here. Our trained assessor will contact you within 7 working days for the appointment. If you would like to reschedule the appointment, kindly contact us 3 working days prior to the assessment and please quote your order number.
9. Are there mileage charges?
Certainly, our assessorĀ will come to your residence. The initial 10km from iElder SS2 is complimentary. Subsequent kilometers will incur a fee of RM1 each.
